Subject: Michael- Tech Writer
I knew Michael, John, and Doug in their other lives at work. All three were the friendliest, nicest, smartest, down-to-earth people you could meet. When I picture them together it is in the breakroom playing chess at lunchtime. Unfortunately I have never heard a single song performed by any of them.
I was surprised when I received a call at work one day from my husband asking if I knew Michael or Tim. He had read an article about the band in the Reader and found out they both (at the time) worked at Shure. When I said I did, I was asked why I never told him that I worked with people in cool bands. That week I visited Michael and asked him why he never told me he was a star. He just laughed in his charming way.
Michael and I worked together on a project shortly after he started at Shure. Many of the pictures in the guide were modeled after co-workers. I have attached a link to the user guide page of the Shure website. Check out page 7 of the T Series user guide. Michael used himself as a model for the headworn usage pictures.
On a typical day, I will walk past Michael and John's desks a half dozen times. Everytime I walk by I expect to see them. Michael staring at his user guide layout on screen. John talking to an agency on the phone. I really wished I had stopped to chat more often. Whenever I stopped I would leave happier than I came.
We all miss them terribly at work. My thoughts and prayers are with their families and friends.
